They create a free-flowing dialogue, they improvise.... the string of the kora: a story beyond time....

A GRIOT in west africa is a poet - a storyteller. The griot's role is to preserve the genealogies and oral traditions of the tribe. In places where written language is the prerogative of the few, the place of the griot is that of cultural guardian.

today i thought of adding some story to my trip :

- the Coran
- 3 quartiers of Bamako = Badialan I, II & III. In Badialan I lives Marikò, in Badialan II ? (i don't remember) and in Badialan III Toumani Diabatè.
- malian woman
- taxi price CFA 1,000 (always)
- sms from Mariko while waiting for the plane from Bamako to Rome
- restaurant bill of "the last dinner" with Mariko and Cheikh, Djeneba (it is me with my new malian name) and Moussa (my husbands' malian name)
- the moon: waiting for the ramadam to end
- Dogon man
- Dogon Villages.

The story of the G R I O T while playing his kora.
